Building a strong, caring community is one of our most effective crime prevention tools. Today is Say Hi day in the Region of Waterloo and is sponsored by the Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council
The “Say Hi” campaign aims to bring people together and nurture a sense of belonging and responsibility in our community. This is really important for us at PCL as we want to foster a sense of belonging for those we support in our community. We would like to see the people we support and our staff reach out to make connections with our neighbours and build friendships. This will increase awareness and acceptance of those living with disabilities in our community.
Why Say Hi?
By reaching out to neighbours and friends, you can help build a strong community.
- You’ll get connected with your community
- You’ll remove barriers that separate people
- You’ll nurture a sense of belonging & inclusion
- You’ll start a dialogue about community safety
Small steps build safe communities. Take the first step, and say “Hi” to the people in your community.
