The presents have been unwrapped, you’ve eaten your fill and the Christmas tree has been taken down As the magic of Christmas slowly fades, you settle into the new year. Time now for resolutions! At the beginning of the year, we’re eager to make a thousand and one promises, usually about changing our habits or lifestyle. While we may find it easy to make resolutions, it’s often a lot harder to live up to them. Naturally, after a few weeks, our willpower falters and old habits unfortunately ease back and take over.
This year, why not replace those resolutions (all too often forgotten) with a special project! At the beginning of the New Year, think positively about a project that might help you to grow, improve or succeed at something important to you!
January is the perfect time to think about a project that you would like to undertake in the coming months. Big or small, the important thing is to be positive about your future! Your project can be about different aspects of your life: work, personal growth, interpersonal relationships, etc. To bring a project to term, it is important to keep three key principles in mind:
1. Choose a project that corresponds to your convictions and values; things that reflect who you are and not something imposed by social pressures.
2. Choose a realistic project that matches your skills. You won’t succeed at something that is over your head!
3. Get support from your loved ones! The people around you will be able to motivate you and remind you of your objectives!
Don’t forget: better to succeed at one project that is important to you than to make a bunch of resolutions that you won’t keep! The beginning of the year definitely marks a new start, challenges to come, obstacles to overcome… Make the most of these moments, always remember to be positive every day and follow your convictions and your heart.
Happy New Year 2015
