Today’s post features Lisa R.s submission about how Natalie V. is a PCL Superhero making a difference in the lives of the people she supports. Read on for the full story.
Natalie works at the Pastern Trail home every other weekend ans sometimes finds it hard to motivate the men supported to participate in activities. She got an idea and without involving her supervisor SHOWED INITIATIVE and contacted other homes to invite them over for an afternoon of fun and socializing. She contacted three homes per week COLLABORATION, and made the plans for the Sunday afternoon. She had all of the men she supports gather around in the kitchen the morning of the day and participate in making cupcakes. FOSTERING INDEPENDENCE IN OTHERS. When the individuals arrived in the afternoon she had everyone in the kitchen to decorate while socializing in a positive manner with each other. Natalie used CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING to come up with this idea and create a fun afternoon for several individuals.
Way to to Natalie for being a PCL Superhero!
