Scott was nominated by Gayle R. as a PCL Superhero. Read her reasons why below.
Scott has become an integral part of the Blueridge team because he provides the gentlemen with experiences that none of the female staff can provide… adult GUY TIME! Whether he is sharing TV sports, taking the initiative to plan and execute a trip to a Raptors game in Toronto, taking one fellow weekly to Blastball games and, most recently participating in sports with the guys at Core Fitness. Scott plays to their strengths, sense of fun, and healthy male competition with an energy and enthusiasm that inspires them to participate in return. The gentlemen at Bluerdige have consistently experienced Scott’s talent for great interpersonal relationships and respect. Scott has also the ability to collaborate and foster independence in the men on the weekly shopping trips to Stemmlers for meet, to the grocery store for weekend groceries, the beer store for beer and to Tim’s for the Tim Card reloads. Scott also arranges with them for drop offs and pick ups at appropriate times for weekly activities. On a larger scale, Scott worked with the men to pick up new livingroom furniture in the summer of 2014 and planned and accompanied them in their participation in the Santa Claus Parade in December 2013. During a recent snow storm, Scott showed resilience and problem solving skills in switching his shift in another home to make to to Blueridge through the snow when no one else could make it there for the shifts.
All of this is quintessential Scott W.
This story was written and submitted by Gayle R. Senior Support Provider of the Blueridge home, it really shows an appreciation of all of the things that Scott does every day to make a difference in the lives of those he supports. Well done Scott.
