On December 9, 2014 , PCL hosted another Christmas dinner to remember! Almost one hundred people joined us, including PCL staff, individuals in our care, their families and friends. There was dancing, laughing and a lot of happy faces. Even Santa paid us a visit! There are so many people we are grateful to this season for their continued support. First of all, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to St. Francis of Assisi Church for allowing PCL to use their premises for this event. We were fortunate that Fr. Joseph was able to participate in the dinner and say his blessings to our gathering. I would like to extend a big thank you to the students from St. Davids Catholic High School and to Alison from St. Jerome’s for helping us to set up and serve. I would also like to thank Donna Lenz for volunteering her musical and culinary skills, a – live music could not have been better and so was the stuffing. We are also grateful to everyone who cooked for this dinner or volunteered their help in any other way! Once again the PCL staff came through in the spirit of Christmas and made it an enjoyable evening for everyone. Congratulations to Haley J. for winning the prize based on donations to the United Way Campaign and to Brennan H. for walking away with at gift card to Jack Astors as the winner of the door prize.
Special thanks also goes out to Sonya M, Sue K and Nathan G. for helping with set up, serving and clean up.
And, in the spirit of caring and hope, we send condolences to one of our staff team members on the loss of her mother, it was truly wonderful to see her appreciation of all of the PCL supporters today at the funeral. It is so nice to see members of the PCL community support and encourage one another in the spirit of giving and hope, especially at a time of loss.
