April is Autism awareness month in the United States and Ontario participated in celebrating World Autism Awareness Day on April 2/13. An estimated one in 88 Canadians – as many as 100,000 in Ontario – has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a lifelong developmental disability that affects social interaction and communication skills. Although treatment and therapy can ease the symptoms, there is no cure. Please see this link for the article in the Toronto Star.
