April 15-21st we celebrate the value of our volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week. Our volunteers are a dedicated and caring group of individuals who spend their time with the people and programs of PCL helping to build confidence, competence, connections and community. This past year has been a time of much growth and change and so we thank those volunteers who put in time to assist us with this strategic growth.Much appreciation goes to our board and in particular our Board of Directors Chair Gary H. who has initiated and facilitate the creation of a strategic plan. With his lead, the Board team spent many hours working towards the creation of this plan and will continue to do so to make it a living breathing representation for future plans for PCL.
We also thank our many committee volunteers for the work they do on a regular basis and on an event basis for PCL.
We also remember our Green Thumb Volunteers who help to keep several of our properties looking great in our community. They work very hard with seasonal clean up and regular maintenance all year.
And we are very grateful and recognize our volunteers who spend time building and enjoying relationships with those we support. Every individual who is fortunate enough to have a volunteer benefits from this relationship in many ways. These visits together can assist those we support in building confidence to try more things in the community and become more competent in doing so. Volunteers participate in many ways, such as taking people out for coffee or shopping at the mall, doing crafts together or attending recreational and leisure activities together.
For all our volunteers we wish you “Seeds of Thanks for a Year of Growth”
If you know someone who might be interested in developing a relationship with a person that we support please have them contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
