Parents for Community Living recognizes the importance of positive mental and physical health in the workplace and as such we strive to provide an environment that supports our employees and those we support. Our Wellness committee has planned some amazing events, challenges and activities for the 2019 year. We created a calendar to share to all employees showcasing a different focus on wellness each month. Staff have been asked to register for the program through our firstname.lastname@example.org account and set some goals for the 2019 year. In February our focus was on heart health and healthy eating. Staff and those we support were challenged to skip junk food for the month of February. In March we focused on getting enough sleep and brain activities and we are currently in process of receiving all the participant challenge sheets and there will be a draw for some awesome pillows donated by Sleep Factory.
April begins tooth month and we have some exciting toothy tidbits to share for employees and a tooth brushing challenge for those we support.
We are also happy to announce that PCL will be participating in the Not Myself Today campaign once again through CMHA. We are planning a launch event for May and will be centering our efforts on respectful workplaces, self awareness and emotional intelligence.
