In 2005, the Ontario government passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). The act is the first of its kind in Canada implementing mandatory accessibility standards and it applies to both private and public sector businesses and organizations. This includes places of worship and organizations with as few as one employee
